But boy, was it worth it.
I had so much FUN. These exposures were all 2.5 seconds, I was really surprised that you could already see the blurs where the stars had moved (well, okay, technically the earth moved, but you know what I mean). Now I want to set up a really long exposure and see if I can get longer star tracks.
(Philly is in that direction - hence all the light).

Wow, you get such great photos! I think I need a tripod. And I need to read the manual some more because I don't know what I'm doing! I just used whatever exposure was set on the camera. I wonder if a clear night would yield clearer photos too. I'm so hooked, I shouldn't read your blog! Just kidding. ;)
Those are absolutely gorgeous!
thanks, girls!
author - yes, i pulled out the tripod last night. i was inside, shooting through an open window. i froze, but it was better than standing outside, ha! i'm still learning - asking photog friends lots of questions and reading lots of books. mostly just fumbling and bumbling around. :)
Great photos! I like them.
Kirsten, you are amazing! Love your pics!
Your first photo elicited an "Oh Wow!" from me.
Your second photo got "OH WOW!!"
No wonder you are hooked!
Thanks for sharing these small and significant steps, it's fun to discover this with you!
