If it is Spirit Week at your child's school, and he wants to dress up for "Duct Tape Day," it is not a good idea to decorate his shirt with duct tape. Even though it peels off easily the night before, something mysterious will happen to it while he wears it and the tape will be all but impossible to pull off by lunch time the next day. And when you do get it off, there will be sticky duct tape residue ALL OVER the shirt.
AND, even though you think that Sharpie ink is permanent, if you decorate said duct tape with colored Sharpies some of the ink will rub off the tape and end up on the shirt, the couch, and anything else your child rubs up against.
Just in case you were wondering.

note to self #3
Never, ever, under any circumstances, no matter how good the idea may seem at the time, store corn syrup upside-down.
Especially on a three-tiered lazy susan.

note to self #2
When you hear a small 6-year-old voice calling from the bathroom, and he hollers, "Mommy, I forgot to pull my underwear down when I went potty," you know you're in for an interesting day.

note to self
When a recipe says "greased loaf pan," it does not mean "spray loaf pan with Pam." It really means "slather with Crisco."
Lesson learned. Too bad it was learned on a double batch, resulting in four broken loaves of zucchini bread.
