Our next-door neighbors have several similar plants, and theirs haven't been touched. It's not fair, I tell you.
My parents, who live in the woods, had such a hard time with deer that they ended up surrounding their yard with a 10-foot fence. Somehow I don't think that would be practical here, nor appreciated by our neighbors. But sometimes it sounds like a great idea.

Try taking hair out of your hairbrush and placing it around the perimeter. They don't like the idea of humans too close and hair has a strong odor for them. I've also heard of people getting hair clippings from the barber and spreading them around. Good Luck!
