Kiddo picked it out. It took him all of 30 seconds. He liked the green color of this one. "It was different than the others?" I asked later. "Yes, it was prettier."
Actually, he really did pick a pretty good one.
Once we had it home, it was time for some serious decorating.
Does your Christmas tree tell stories? I love all of the memories behind our ornaments.
(honeymoon in Bar Harbor)
(preschool art projects)
(Kiddo's love of ducks)
(vintage ornaments handed down by my grandmother)
(the many ornaments Kiddo and I have made together)
(aren't you jealous?)
And many, many more. We've collected (and made) so many ornaments, we can no longer fit them all on the tree...we had to pick and choose this year. So many stories on one tree.
I think we're finally finished with all the decorating.
(bet you didn't know the three wise men arrived in a red Lexus, did you?)
I could sit here all night staring at the tree and all the twinkle lights. And the Christmas ducks.

Love this post! Our Christmas ornaments tell many stories too. I've never quite understood when I hear of people going out and picking matching ornaments with a color theme---but no family-story-type ornaments. I think a tree with stories to tell is much more interesting.
Your tree is beautiful!!
Yes, wonderful post. Our family ornaments tell stories too. We buy Matthew a new ornament every year (a tradition from my family) and we buy ourselves one too. We have made ones (by ourselves and others), antiques bulbs bought at an auction, ones from my first apartment tree, and the list goes on. I can't wait to have too many for one tree! You have a truly beautiful tree. Good job Kiddo!
Love the bannister. Your photos are so full of Christmas cheer! Thanks for sharing it with me!
This is awesome, Kirsten! I love your pics!
