3:00 am {insomnia}

I am the convalescent now - I got knocked flat by something on Monday and am trying desperately to fight it off.  The doctors always tell you that rest is the best thing - but somehow I always manage to get some sort of insomnia when I'm sick and end up wide awake while the rest of the world sleeps.

So.  Since I am awake, I will share some exciting news...

My brothers are coming to visit!

We haven't seen them in over a year and a half.  That is a long time.  They both live in Seattle.  They both have stereotypical Seattle jobs.  The one on the right works at Starbucks (in addition to a couple of other jobs that he loves) where he knows all of his regular customers and has their drinks ready and waiting by the time they get to the cash register.  The one on the left works for Microsoft and often uses words I can't understand.  His wife and two girls are coming, too.  Hooray!

[edit - I can't tell right from left at 3:00 in the morning.  They should be switched - the one on the LEFT works at Starbucks and the one on the RIGHT works at Microsoft and belongs to my SIL and my two nieces.]

I am excited.

I am the oldest.  Somehow everyone expresses surprise and/or disbelief when I tell them that.  Maybe it is because they both TOWER above me?  But it's true.  I am the bossy older sister.

We are all very different.  But we sure have a lot of fun when we are together.

Sometimes they make me laugh.

Sometimes they make me laugh so hard...

...that I cry.

I'm cool like that.

They sometimes think I'm strange.

But they love me anyway.  I'm so glad.

And sometimes, they are strange right along with me.

Can't wait to see them!  Siblings are awesome.

And on that note, I am going to bed.  Again.

Good night morning!

Hey, I'm awake as well, but it's not 3 am here...it's only 1:15!
I have 3 brothers. One thinks I'm too serious, one thinks I'm too religious and the other thinks I'm okay but like to tease me. I'm younger than all three by 11, 8 and 5 years. Surprisingly, I have the most in common with the one who thinks I'm too religious. They all live on the other side of the country. I haven't seen them in 6 years. Families are challenging sometimes. Cherish your bros, that is so awesome.

This August my husband and I are celebrating our 20th anniversary! If you plan to come to see your brothers this summer you should take a little drive down to see the Farrm!

It looks like fun! I wouldn't know since I'm a only, but siblings probably can be a very big blessing.

Ugh! Feel better soon so you can enjoy time with your brothers! My brother and I are 18 months apart...but worlds different. I wish we were close. Maybe someday, God willing!
